Privacy Policy
Effective September 6, 2026. This policy describes how Guthixian Guidance uses browser storage, account lookup services, analytics and advertising technologies.
Information you enter and account data
When you enter an Old School RuneScape display name, Guthixian Guidance can request public skill information from the official Old School RuneScape Hiscores and synchronized quest or Achievement Diary information from RuneScape Wiki WikiSync when available. These requests pass through Guthixian Guidance's hosting infrastructure before reaching the relevant external service.
Planner state, saved account profiles, restrictions, active plans and similar account-progress information are primarily stored in your browser using local storage or session storage so the site can restore your work on that device. Clearing site data in your browser removes this locally stored state.
Analytics
Guthixian Guidance uses PostHog to understand site usage, feature adoption and interface problems. The production analytics layer is configured to mask form inputs in session replay and designated account-specific text. Custom analytics events are filtered to exclude RuneScape display names and detailed account-state payloads such as raw skill/XP, quest, diary, unlock and bank-value data.
Analytics services may still receive technical information that ordinarily accompanies a web request or browser session, such as IP address, browser/device information, page URL, timestamps and interaction metadata, subject to the provider's own policies and the privacy choices available in your region.
Advertising and Google AdSense
Guthixian Guidance uses Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to serve, measure and personalize advertising. Google's advertising cookies can allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to Guthixian Guidance and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. You can also learn about opt-outs from participating third-party vendors at AboutAds. Cookies, local storage and consent
Advertising and analytics providers may use cookies or similar browser technologies for purposes such as ad delivery, frequency capping, measurement, fraud prevention and analytics. Guthixian Guidance also uses browser local/session storage for product state and saved account planning information.
Where required, visitors may be presented with region-appropriate privacy or consent controls. Advertising choices can affect whether personalized, non-personalized or limited ads are served. Consent and opt-out requirements vary by jurisdiction.
External services
The site may communicate with Jagex/Old School RuneScape services, RuneScape Wiki services, PostHog, Google AdSense and the site's hosting/CDN provider as required by the feature you use. Those services process data under their own privacy terms.
Data security and retention
Browser-saved account planning data remains on your device until you clear it, overwrite it, or the application migrates compatible local state. Third-party service retention is governed by the relevant provider. No Internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
Guthixian Guidance is a fan-made Old School RuneScape utility and is not intended to collect personal information from children. Do not submit personal information through the site.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site's data practices, analytics, advertising configuration or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
